Feeding and Shedding

No, this really isn't a commercial ad! This is just something I want to pass along to you all if you are interested in seeing the amount of cat hair in your home decrease. This "discovery" of mine came about rather by accident.  Remember the cat food scare a few years ago?  Well, that is why we lost Jessie -- due to the tainted cat food.  As I result, I started feeding my brood a brand primarily formulated for show cats, I think.  It's called "Royal Canin" and comes in different varieties. I get it at a local seed and feed store.  It is amazing how much it decreases their shedding and has eliminated Oscar's need to constantly have his teeth cleaned.  This is the link if any of you are interested - http://products.royalcanin.us/products.aspx?Animal=Cat Oh, and they have a hair ball formula that really works, too! I feed my horde several varieties in a sort of non-scheduled rotation.

  2. I think this has been an especially bad winter for cat hair (at least here in Iowa)! My cats were putting on their winter fur as early as last July!

  3. Wow! Thanks for sharing this information. I have two cats, and I'm looking for ways to cut down on the cat hair.

I found your blog via the Bird In The Hand Primitives blog. The pillow you created is lovely as is all of your other works here on your blog.

  4. Thanks, Liz. It about 3-6 months for me to see a change in the amount of hair, but it is definitely worth it! :)

  5. That is something I can use, my kitties leave way too much hair.
I will check out our store, we have feed stores here, so they should carry it. I love the kitty pieces you have done.
