Cats and Ibuprofen and Tylenol

I'm sure all of you kitty mommies out there know about this, but I thought I would remind you all that cats (and dogs) should not be given human OTC medications including ibuprofen. I'm writing this because a friend on Facebook had an injured cat and someone recommended baby ibuprofen for the cat and she gave it to him.

Cats who consume ibuprofen can undergo devastating effects. Significant damages include bleeding stomach ulcers and rapid kidney failure. In any case, a few days without treatment will lead to the cat's death. Cats will experience severe abdominal pain from ibuprofen.  Tylenol is fatal to cats. Please take you cat to the vet if he/she needs pain medication. And remember if your pet in injured and in pain they may also need antibiotics (and even surgery) so get them to the Vet as soon as possible!

  7. OH my dear goodness... this is so true. I hope people don't just get information from well meaning folks off Facebook or even blogs for that matter. It's always wise to consult the vet first before doing anything for your fur babies like giving them medication right from your cupboard. I think I'll post that up on my FB page too...

Oh, in answer to your questions about the candle bags I'm making... yes, I'm working on making a bunch for our little Christmas tree in the dining room. It's our Prim Tree and I make all the ornies for it. I've got some hanging from a couple of shelves and from the China Cabinet right now. Wherever I find room, I'll hang 'em. :-) The scented ones I love to put all around the house. Though they are not the battery powered ones, they leave off a delightful aroma everyone loves.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and visiting with me today.

I hope you have yourself a wonderful evening,
    Susan @ CluckleBees
